Resort Amenities

The 50-acres are packed with things to do. One the most popular amenities is the main “Yard” play area. This area features our bocce-ball court, corn-hole an other yard games, and the lazy bedswing (which just might be the best spot ever to watch the sun set). With a brief walk from the Yard, you’ll find a horseshoe pit adjacent to our Amphitheatre, which is home to our Cinema Under the Stars event that will commence in 2017. The on-site hiking trail connects these amenities to the others around the property. It’s a brief walk down to our playground and Indian Tipi (or do you spell it teepee?) and then another brief yet slightly more challenging walk down to our waterfall, trout pond, and Ec0-park. Not to worry, our property is designed for enjoyment by all ages, and resting stations, and even staircases with handrails are provided at the more rigorous parts of the trail.

The highlight of our eco-park, and the termination of our hiking trail is our very own waterfall. Whether you sit in solace to enjoy the tranquility or utilize this space for an afternoon picnic, the waterfall is a site of serenity and beauty.

Yard Games

Whether it's a casual game of bocce ball or perhaps some competitive cornhole, the "Yard" area is a great place to hang out and enjoy one of the most beautiful views in the area. We've created a grassy knoll right in the center of our property for all guests to enjoy, walking distance from most of our units, and a variety of yard games are provided. For spectators, enjoy our collection of eco-friendly yard furniture or just relax on our comfortable bedswing as the sun sets.

Hiking Trail

Running throughout our 50 acres is a well prepared hiking trail. From the main "Yard" area, it is about a half mile hilly stroll down to the midpoint, which is where you'll find our playground and authentic Indian teepee. Continue another half-mile for a slightly more rigorous hike that ends at our eco-park, where you'll find our trout pond and waterfall. We've provided resting stations at comfortable intervals, and even built stairs with handrails on some of the steeper areas, because we want guests of all ages to be able to enjoy the beauty on the entire resort property.
We try to keep the pond stocked, as kids of all ages will enjoy feeding the trout from our provided feed station. No fishing allowed, as this area is for everyone's enjoyment and to hopefully provide a glimpse of the underwater wildlife you might find in the waters of the Smokies.

Special Events

Because there are over 17 units ranging in size from 1 bedrooms to 4 bedrooms, the flexibility of combining units all of which are walking distance to one-another is perfect for planning large events, weddings, commitment ceremonies, corporate retreats, or family reunions. We have pavilions, tables, & chairs available for rent, and can provide references for local caterers and planners to suit any need you may have.

Within walking distance of most units on the resort, we have a casual playground area with swingset, picnic table, and our very own Indian teepee. The convenience of this activity right from your cabin will save the hassle of driving somewhere if you find the need to tire out the kids.

Motorcycle Friendly Cabins

The Watershed Resort is convenient to the "Tail of the Dragon," or "Deal's Gap" as it is also known, one of the most famous rides in the country. Whether you come in a convertible sports car with your driving club, or just ride your Harley on your own, the roads will treat you right. Our main road is paved to the top of our property. The units right at the end of the pavement are all marked as motorcycle friendly in our amenities feature list because the brief amount of gravel has proven easily navigable by previous guests with riding experience.

Eco Park

Our Eco-park, named as such because we utilized all eco-friendly materials in the preparation of the park, provides a nice setting for picnics, play days, or even special events. The picnic tables are made from recycled materials, and the landscape and construction materials were diverted from landfills or sourced locally in a green way. This was our own challenge to create something special in a way that proves a little effort towards reuse, recovery, and conservation of materials can pay off in beautiful ways.

Cinema Under the Stars

Our mini-amphitheatre is almost complete, and 2018 promises a regular 'movie night' and other special events. Corporate groups will also appreciate this space for outdoor speaker sessions and presentations. Check our Events Calendar for specific scheduling.
